Erasmus+ KA131 Blended Intensive Programmes (BIPs) "Digitalization of Future Urban Life Style" Student Mobility Application for the 2023 Project Term

Applications for those who want to participate in the student mobility within the Erasmus+ 2023 Project Year under Erasmus Blended Intensive Programmes (BIPs) will be accepted between March 26th and April 9th, 2024.

What are Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programmes (BIPs)?

Blended Intensive Programmes (BIPs) are short and intensive education programs that utilize innovative teaching and learning methods including online collaboration. BIPs allow higher education institutions to jointly develop education, teaching, and learning programs for groups of academic and administrative staff as well as students, using innovative and virtual tools. Activities within BIPs cover both physical mobility (between 5 and 30 days) and a mandatory virtual component.

What is the "Digitalization of Future Urban Life Style" Blended Intensive Programme?

This Blended Intensive Programme is coordinated by Istanbul Kültür University, Department of Mathematics and Computer Science, and will take place between June 20-26, 2024, at "1 Decembrie 1918" University of Alba Iulia, Romania.

This program focuses on developing and presenting a project that includes a software application focusing on "digital urbanization" at the in4it-UAB hackathon organized by "1 Decembrie 1918" University of Alba Iulia under the main theme "Digital Future." It will also include lectures and seminars by international academics, as well as various social and cultural activities.

The hackathon aims to encourage new innovative projects and expand knowledge and digital culture. Teams consisting of a maximum of 5 students will have the opportunity to present their ideas on "Digital Urbanization" on an international platform. Teams will be formed by applicants with ideas related to the aforementioned topic. After the application period, interviews will be conducted with teams, and selections will be made from the applying teams.

The course taken by the students participating in this program will be equivalent to 3 ECTS credits, as determined by the Faculty Board.

What is the quota allocated for students to participate in the BIP program?

The quota for students to be selected for funding is set at 10.

What are the criteria for students applying to BIP?

  • Being a full-time enrolled student and not being in a graduated status during the Erasmus exchange program period,
  • Having a minimum GPA of 2.20,
  • If benefited from Erasmus+ higher education mobility activities within the current education level, the total duration with the new activity should not exceed 12 months,
  • Being a member of a team with a project on "Digital Urbanization" consisting of a maximum of 5 students
SELECTION CRITERIA AND POINTS TABLE
Minimum interview score for students wishing to benefit from the Blended Intensive Programme Minimum 30 (out of 100)
Academic Achievement Level (GPA) minimum 2.20 (out of 4.00)
Those who have received assistance from AFAD for disaster victims (themselves or their first-degree relatives) +10 points
Children of martyrs and veterans +15 points
Disabled students (with documented disability) +10 points
Students covered by the Social Services Law No. 2828 for protection, care, or accommodation decisions (The student must present a letter from the Ministry of Family and Social Policies stating that they have a protection, care, or accommodation decision according to Law No. 2828) +10 points
Previous participation in Erasmus+ programs with or without grants (for each mobility) -10 points
Participating in mobility in the country of citizenship -10 points
Not participating in mobility without declaring resignation (applies if the student reapplies to Erasmus) -10 points
Not attending meetings/training sessions organized by the International Relations Office without a valid excuse (applies if the student reapplies to Erasmus) -5 points
Not taking the Foreign Language Exam after completing the online application without a valid excuse (applies if the student reapplies to Erasmus) -5 points

 

ERASMUS SCORE CALCULATION METHOD

Erasmus Score = 50% GPA (out of 100) + 50% Interview Score (out of 100)

What documents are required to be uploaded during the application?

  • Transcript / Grade Report (including the most recent semester)

Where will applications for the BIP program be accepted?

  • Students wishing to participate in the program must apply through the TURNAPortal system using their TR ID number and e-Government password.
  • Detailed information regarding the interview will be communicated via email to students who successfully complete their application.

FINANCIAL SUPPORT
Students participating in mobility under the BIP will receive a daily individual support of €79. Each student participating in the activity will receive a grant of €553 for the 7-day activity, within the framework of the Erasmus+ 2023 Project Year. Selected students will not receive travel grants in addition to individual support.

GREEN TRAVEL

Green travel involves using low carbon emission public transportation for travel. Bus, train, and shared car usage are included in green travel. To be eligible for green travel support, more than half of the travel distance must be covered using green vehicles for both outbound and return journeys.

INCLUSION SUPPORT

The Erasmus+ Programme encourages the participation of individuals with special needs. A participant with special needs is someone whose personal physical condition, mental condition, or health condition would prevent them from participating in the project/mobility activity without additional financial support. To receive additional grants for students and staff requiring special needs support, the beneficiary higher education institution must submit an additional grant request to the Center. After a participant with special needs support is selected, if there is a need for additional grants, approximate additional expenses will be determined, and an additional grant request will be made to the Center.
