COURSE SELECTION, ADD-DROP AND WITHDRAWEL

With the UNIPASS Username and Password, students can have access to the online services provided by the university. 
In case the student can’t access his/her account, in order to receive a new Password, he/she can use the link https://unipass.iku.edu.tr/ResetPassword/index.jsp
The new password will be sent via SMS to your mobile phone registered in the system. 

Orion is one of the main applications used in IKU, used mainly in Registration, Re-registrations, Course selections and accounting purposes.
Students can Visit https://orion.iku.edu.tr/ and then log in with the Username and UNIPASS Password.

a)Registration Renewal
•    During the Registration Renewal Period, all IKU students will have to use this application to re-register for their active academic year. (This includes new students who will be enrolled.) 

•    Students can renew registration by clicking on Re-Registration, Accounting, Course Select.
Problems and restrictions involving Registration Renewal:
•    Controls performed by Financial Affairs (Payment procedures.) if the action is not within the Course Select Period.
•    The lack of an advisor (The student must contact the department.)
•    If the student was received disciplinary punishment, according to the articles 8,9 and 10 (In case of a false decision, the student must contact the Registrar’s Office.)
•    If the student’s residence permit has expired (In case of a false decision, the student must contact the Registrar’s Office.)  
•    If the student deregistered, or froze their enrollment (In case of a false decision, the student must contact the Registrar’s Office.)  
•    If the student is within an Erasmus+ mobility period (In case of a false decision, the student must contact the Registrar’s Office.)   
b)Course Selection
•    On the Course Selection application, there is information about the remaining days of the course selection period. 

The courses listed in the Course Selection application are as follows:
•    The courses within the active term.
•    The courses the student received F from in previous terms.
•    The courses the student received C-, D+, D, D- from in previous terms.
•    The courses from the previous terms that were withdrawn from. 
•    The courses from the previous term (x+2).

•    The search box allows different search criteria on the Course Selection Process screen, which makes it possible for the courses to be found based on the course code, course name, semester and elective course information. Students registered in the Double Major – Minor Program will view the courses separately on a program basis.
•    The “Info” section has information about a course’s name, code, the program and the department, the academic year and semester, and the status of the student.
Lower section shows the course theory/practice/laboratory/internship information, instructor, branch/location, date and time of the course; information on the remaining student capacity for enrollment in the course.
•    The “Description” section has information about the purpose of the course.
•    The “Contacts” section shows the head of the department.
•    “Total Credit Simulation” will reveal information about the minimum and the maximum credit burden of the semester, the extra credit burden, the total credits of courses in your Registration Cart, credits of preregistered courses and final enrollment, and finally Total Credit Burden. 
•    When the student has a valid number of credits, the icon of the total credit simulation will turn from orange to green.
•    Select the “Practise” of the course and then add it to the “Registration Cart”. 
•    Added courses can also be seen from the search panel.
Reasons for Course Selection failures:
•    The student has already registered for courses.
•    The action is not within a Course Select Period.
•    The action is not within a Course Add-Drop Period (For Course Add-Drop).
•    The action is not within a Course Withdrawal Period (For Course Withdrawal).
•    The lack of an advisor (The student must contact the department).
•    The student has registered for the Preparatory Year. Students who are in their Preparatory Years do not need to Course Select. (In case of a false decision, the student must contact the Registrar’s Office).  
•    The student was received disciplinary punishment, according to the articles 8,9 and 10 (In case of a false decision, the student must contact the Registrar’s Office).
•    The student’s residence permit has expired. (In case of a false decision, the student must contact the Registrar’s Office).  
•    The student deregistered, or froze their enrollment. (In case of a false decision, the student must contact the Registrar’s Office).  
•    The student is participating in Erasmus+ mobility. (In case of a false decision, the student must contact the Registrar’s Office).   


c)Registration Cart
•    The number of courses added to the registration cart, and their total credits are shown on the Registration Cart application.
•    If there are any date conflicts, they will appear as notifications.
•    The total credit simulation menu shows the total credit burden of the selected courses, and other information concerning credits.
•    Finalize the course selection process by clicking on Complete Course Selection in the Registration Cart.
Warning: Every day during a Course Selection Period, any remaining courses in the Registration Cart that are not already enrolled until 23:59 pm, will be cleared at 00:00.
d)Course Add-Drop
•    The active status of Course Add-Drop period, and the remaining days of the period will be shown in Course Select application. 
•    Students may add a course by clicking on Course Select then clicking on Add to Registration Cart. After confirming the selection, all courses added will appear in the Registered Courses.
•    Students can drop a course by visiting the Registered Courses section, then select a course which they want to drop and then click on the Drop Course button on lower right corner. 
•    Dropped courses will appear on the Registration Cart. Students have to send a  notice to their Advisors in order for the procedure to be completed. 

The Course Add-Drop restrictions are as follows:
•    Students cannot drop courses from which they received F.
•    Students cannot drop courses they have withdrawn. 
•    Students cannot drop courses from which they received C-, D+, D, D- during a repeat of a semester.  
•    Students who are in their 1st semester cannot drop courses from the 1st semester; students who are in their 2nd semester cannot drop courses from the 2nd semester of the curriculum.
•    Students may only change Course Sections if they meet the credit requirements.
e)Course Withdrawal
•    During a Withdrawal period, the students will have the ability to withdraw from registered courses. Information regarding the period and the remaining days are shown on Course Select application.
•    Withdraw from a course by clicking on a registered course, and then clicking on Withdraw from Course on the lower right corner. 
•    Students have to proceed by sending a notice to their Advisors. 
The Course Withdrawal restrictions are as follows:
•    Students cannot withdraw from courses which they received F, Z and V.
•    Students cannot withdraw from courses they have already withdrawn.
•    Students cannot drop courses from which they received C-, D+, D, D- during a repeat of a semester. 
•    Students who are in their 1st semester cannot withdraw from courses from the 1st semester; students who are in their 2nd semester cannot withdraw from courses from the 2nd semester of the curriculum. 
•    A student can only withdraw from 1 course.
f)Change of Course Sections
•    Change of course sections can only occur during a Course Add-Drop period, as shown in the academic calendar. 
A student may only change a course’s section if they meet the credit requirements.
•    Students shall change a course’s section by clicking on “Change of Course Sections” application.
The theory/practice/laboratory information are also shown there.
•    The section can be chosen and the process will be saved.
