IKU carries out improvement studies by making its self-evaluation within the scope of Strategic Plan monitoring studies. Istanbul Kültür University has largely completed the basic legislative work to improve quality processes. In this direction, the University Quality Commission established under the presidency of the Rector, the Quality Directorship under the Rector, and the Quality Commissions of all academic and administrative units regularly carry out “Plan-Do- Check-Take Action” cycles in the fields of education, R&D, social contribution, and internationalization and continue to work on increasing the quality gradually.
Our Quality Coordination Unit works in coordination with the existing Quality Commission units of each faculty and administrative department during internal evaluation processes. During certain periods and shares the reports for the unit with the Quality Coordination Office. At the same time, the Academic Unit Quality Commission is also responsible for the accreditation of departments. In this context, all our departments have had international ECTS accreditation labels since 2011. In addition, our Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Architecture and Design, Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Faculty of Education, and the Flight Operations Management Program at the Vocational School are accredited by national accreditation institutions. The accreditations received by our relevant departments are as follows:
1. All departments in the Faculty of Engineering are accredited by the “Association for Evaluation and Accreditation of Engineering Education Programs” (MÜDEK). MÜDEK is recognized by the Higher Education Quality Council of Turkey as the National Quality Assurance Agency for the Accreditation of Engineering Programs. Engineering programs are also accredited by EUR-ACE Bachelor (European-Accredited Engineering Bachelor Degree Program) and PEC (Pakistan Engineering Council).
2. Our Department of Architecture (Eng-Tr) in our Faculty of Architecture and Design is accredited by “The Association for Accreditation of Architectural Education” (MİAK-MAK).
3. All departments in our Faculty of Arts and Sciences are accredited by "The Association for Evaluation and Accreditation of University Programs in Mathematical, Natural, and Social Sciences” (FEDEK).
4. All departments in our Faculty of Education are accredited by the Association for Evaluation and Accreditation of Teacher Education (EPDAD).
5. Our Flight Operations Management Program at the Vocational School is accredited by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (SHGM).
