Applications for staff mobility within the Erasmus+ 2023 Project Year, under the Erasmus Blended Intensive Programmes (BIPs), will be accepted from March 27 to April 10, 2024.

What are Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programmes (BIPs)?

Blended Intensive Programmes (BIPs) are short and intensive training programs that utilize innovative teaching and learning methods, including online collaboration. BIPs enable higher education institutions to develop group-based education, teaching, and learning programs for their academic and administrative staff and students, using innovative and virtual tools. Activities under BIPs include both physical mobility (between 5-30 days) and a mandatory virtual component.

What is the "Digitalization of Future Urban Life Style" Blended Intensive Programme?
This programme, coordinated by Istanbul Kültür University, Department of Mathematics and Computer Sciences, will take place at "1 Decembrie 1918" University of Alba Iulia, Romania, from June 20 to 26, 2024.
The programme focuses on a software application project related to "digital urbanization" within the "Digital Future" theme, as part of the in4it-UAB hackathon organized by "1 Decembrie 1918" University of Alba Iulia this year. It will include lectures, seminars by international academics, and various social and cultural activities.

What is the allocated quota for staff to participate in the BIP programme?
The quota for selected staff to receive funding is set at 3.

What are the criteria for staff applying for the BIP programme?

  • Must be a faculty member or staff member of Istanbul Kültür University, Department of Mathematics and Computer Sciences.
  • Must not have any impediments to participation in the activity.

What documents need to be uploaded during the application process?

  • Application Form
  • Mobility Agreement
  • Work Plan
  • Language Certificate (if not available, participation in the language proficiency test conducted by our university's foreign languages unit is mandatory.)
  • ID/Passport

*Documents must be in PDF format and filled out on a computer.
*Candidates who successfully complete their application will be eligible to take the English proficiency test.
*Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.

SCORING SYSTEM
If the applicant has not participated in any activities in the last 5 call periods, they will receive 20 points. If they have participated once, they will receive 15 points; twice, 10 points; thrice, 5 points; four or more times, 0 points.
i) Taking into account institutional priorities;
1.If the applicant is the Erasmus Faculty/Department/Vocational School Coordinator for the Training Activity, they will receive +5 points.
2.The quality of the Teaching/Work Plan will be evaluated, with a maximum of +30 points.
3.For contributing to internationalization and benefiting our university's students by having at least 3 bilateral agreements per staff member that facilitate student exchange and staff mobility, +10 points will be awarded by the Erasmus Staff Mobility Evaluation Committee.
4.Applicants from departments/units that have not previously participated in mobility activities will receive +15 points.

Where will applications for the BIP programme be accepted?
· Interested students must apply via the TURNAPortal system using their Turkish ID number and e-Government password.

FINANCIAL SUPPORT
Staff participating in mobility under the BIP programme will receive a daily individual support of €126. Each staff member participating in the activity will receive a total grant of €1134 for the 7-day activity, as part of the 2023 Erasmus+ Project Year. In addition to individual support, selected staff will receive a travel grant of €275.

GREEN TRAVEL
Green travel involves using low-carbon emission public transportation means such as buses, trains, and shared cars. To be eligible for green travel support, more than half of the total travel distance must be covered using green vehicles during both outbound and return journeys.

INCLUSION SUPPORT
The Erasmus+ Programme encourages the participation of individuals with special needs. A potential participant who cannot join the project/mobility activity due to personal physical, mental, or health conditions without additional financial support is considered a potential participant with special needs. To receive additional grants for participants requiring special needs support, the beneficiary higher education institution must request additional funding from the Center. After selecting participants eligible for special needs support, approximate additional expenses are determined, and a request for additional funding is made to the Center.
