- This announcement contains detailed information regarding the application process for students who wish to participate in the Erasmus+ Study Mobility during the 2026 – 2027 Academic Year (Fall / Spring / Full Academic Year).
EXAM DATES
The English Proficiency Exam will be held face-to-face on 11.03.2026 at the Bahçelievler Campus by the School of Foreign Languages, following the closure of the application period. Exam details will be sent via e-mail to students who have successfully completed their applications.

Students may, if they wish, submit the results of the English Proficiency Exam previously administered by the IKU School of Foreign Languages for the Erasmus+ program, provided that the validity period is within two years prior to the exam date. Results of the preparatory school exemption exams will not be accepted. For this process, the petition provided below must be completed and uploaded to the “Foreign Language Certificate” section, signed and together with the exam result document, by 28.02.2026 at 18:00. Documents submitted after the specified date will not be taken into consideration.
IKU FOREIGN LANGUAGE EXAM RESULT PETITION
The exam results of students who have obtained the required score by taking equivalent exams at external examination centers will be converted into the corresponding language score by the School of Foreign Languages in accordance with the principles set out in the Regulation on the Principles to be Followed in Foreign Language Education and Instruction in Higher Education Institutions, published in the Official Gazette dated 23/3/2016 and numbered 29662. For this process, the petition provided below must be completed and uploaded to the “Foreign Language Certificate” section, signed and together with the exam result document, by 28.02.2026 at 18:00. Documents submitted after the specified date will not be taken into consideration.
EXTERNAL EXAM RESULT PETITION
APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS
1. Associate Degree and Undergraduate students applying for Erasmus+ Study Mobility must have a minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.20/4.00.
2. Graduate and Doctoral students applying for Erasmus+ Study Mobility must have a minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.50/4.00.
3. Having a sufficient ECTS course load (minimum 30 ECTS per semester).
4. Being a full-time registered student and not having graduated during the period in which the Erasmus exchange program takes place.
5. If the student has previously benefited from Erasmus+ higher education mobility activities within the same study cycle, the total duration including the new activity must not exceed 12 months.
APPLICATION PROCEDURE AND REQUIRED DOCUMENTS
1. Erasmus+ Study Mobility applications will be submitted via turnaportal.ua.gov.tr.
2. Applications cannot be submitted before or after the application dates. The system will be activated on 02.02.2026 at 00:00 and will automatically close at the end of the application period.
3. Transcript of Records (a transcript obtained from ORION or e-Devlet with a current date).
4. Graduate students who are in the thesis stage must submit a Letter of Acceptance obtained from the partner university they plan to attend at the time of application (this document is mandatory for graduate students who will carry out mobility during the thesis period and must include information on the thesis topic they will work on and confirmation that they will take a minimum of 30 ECTS per semester for their thesis studies). The relevant document must be uploaded to the application system at the initial application stage; applications of students who fail to submit this document will be rejected.
5. Applications for which the required documents have not been uploaded to the system and applications that are incomplete by 28.02.2026 at 18:00 will be considered invalid.
!!IMPORTANT NOTE REGARDING THE ONLINE APPLICATION FORM!!
• University preferences within the scope of Study Mobility should be made in order of priority.
• Students are advised to review the institutions with which their departments have agreements, pay attention to the language of instruction, conduct research on the websites of the universities they intend to apply to, and finally consult their Erasmus Departmental Coordinators.
• After completing the online application, it is not possible to change partner university preferences. Requests for changes will not be accepted once the application has been completed.
• Please complete the application form as requested and in full. Applications of candidates who provide incomplete or incorrect information will be considered invalid.
• The Erasmus Application Portal does not belong to our University. Due to possible technical delays arising from the system, it is recommended not to leave the application process to the last days.
• Placement is subject to the academic and administrative approval of the host institution.
• Except for force majeure cases (such as visa refusal, documented health conditions, etc.), changes in the period or host institution are not permitted.

In addition to the monthly grant amounts stated above, participants who are entitled to receive a grant are also eligible for a separate travel support. The travel support is calculated based on the distance between the home and host institutions using the Distance Calculator.

GREEN TRAVEL
Green travel refers to travel carried out using low-carbon emission public transportation. The use of buses, trains, and car-sharing is considered within the scope of green travel. In order to be eligible for green travel support, green travel must be used for both departure and return, and more than half of the total travel distance in kilometers must be completed using green transportation methods.
*As a general rule, for distances below 500 km, travel using low-emission transportation methods is required.
Payments are made in two installments: 80% of the total grant is paid before departure and 20% after return. A maximum of 4 months of grant is provided for Study Mobility.
• Students are ranked within their faculties in descending order based on their Erasmus scores. Grants will be allocated according to the faculty-based ranking.
• Not all students may be allocated a grant.
• Students may carry out Erasmus activities using their own financial resources.
• Monthly Erasmus grant rates are determined by the National Agency before the start of the academic year in accordance with national priorities and criteria.
• The exact duration of the Erasmus activity is calculated based on the start and end dates stated in the Certificate of Participation.
• Grant rates are determined by the European Commission for participating countries as shown in the table above. The grant amount varies depending on the cost of living and quality of life indices of the host country.
• Students will be funded for a maximum of 4 months during their mobility period abroad. In order to use the allocated grant effectively and meet the needs of all students, grants will only be provided for the period between the start date of courses and the end date of final examinations.
• Students may waive the financial support if they wish.
GRANT QUOTAS
Grant quotas are estimated based on the number of mobilities approved by the Turkish National Agency and are distributed by taking into account the performance of faculties over the last three years.

ERASMUS GRANT DEDUCTIONS
• In case the mobility period is less than 4 months without force majeure, a deduction will be applied to the remaining grant amount.
• If participants fail to complete the EU Participant Survey Report, 20% of the total grant allocated for the entire mobility period will be deducted.
• If participants fail to successfully complete at least 2/3 of the course credits specified in the Learning Agreement, a deduction will be applied to the second installment (20% of the total grant) according to the table below.

INCLUSION SUPPORT
The Erasmus+ Program encourages the participation of individuals with special needs. A person with special needs is defined as a potential participant whose personal physical, mental, or health condition would prevent participation in the project/mobility activity without additional financial support. In order to provide additional grants to students and staff who require special needs support, the beneficiary higher education institution must request additional funding from the National Agency. After the participant requiring special needs support is selected, if the participant requests additional funding, the estimated additional costs are determined and an additional grant is requested from the National Agency.
ADDITIONAL GRANT SUPPORT
If disadvantaged participants are entitled to receive a grant, they will be provided with Additional Grant Support. In order to benefit from this grant support, a disadvantaged participant is defined as an individual who is economically and socially disadvantaged and meets at least one of the subcategories listed below.
• Those covered under Law No. 2828
(Individuals for whom a protection, care, or accommodation decision has been issued under Law No. 2828 by the Ministry of Family and Social Services)
• Students for whom a protection, care, or accommodation decision has been issued under Law No. 5395 on Child Protection
• Those receiving orphan’s pension / survivor’s pension
• Spouses and children of martyrs and veterans, and veterans themselves
• Those who receive a poverty allowance for themselves or their families
(During the Erasmus application, it is sufficient to submit a document showing the financial support provided to the student or their family by municipalities, public institutions and organizations (Ministries, Social Assistance and Solidarity Foundations, Directorate General of Foundations, Turkish Red Crescent, AFAD, etc.))
• Individuals with disabilities
• Under Law No. 2022 dated 01.07.1976;
1. Students whose mother, father, or legal guardian receives a disability or poverty allowance
2. Students who themselves receive a disability or poverty allowance
• Individuals who themselves or whose first-degree relatives benefit from disaster victim support provided by AFAD
Scholarships provided by the Credit and Dormitories Institution (KYK), similar scholarships, merit-based scholarships, one-time aids, and other scholarships, grants, or aids are not considered within the scope of this financial support.
Students who fall within the scope mentioned above and who document their status may, upon request, benefit from Additional Grant Support in the amounts specified below according to the type of mobility.
