STUDENT MOBILITY INCOMING STUDENTS

The general procedure for incoming exchange students is as follows:

  • Students are nominated for IKU by their own universities. The exchange procedures cannot be started until students become official candidates.
  • Students who are nominated will be informed about the documents they need to send to apply to IKU.
  • Submitted application documents are forwarded to IKU Erasmus Department Coordinators for approval. Department coordinators may request additional information or supporting documents if needed.
  • After the approval of coordinators, admission letters are sent to the admitted students.

This section is designed to provide you with important information that you will need for the application process during and after your mobility in IKU. The information here is not meant to be comprehensive, but to inform you about what you need to do to make a smooth transition from your home to IKU.

APPLICATION

Incoming Erasmus Students should provide the following documents for application:

  • An Application Form (Click here to download in Word format)
  • A Learning Agreement
  • A Transcript (original)
  • 2 photos

Once IKU receives these documents, the Admission Letter will be sent to Erasmus students. Application documents can be sent by e-mail or by post. In both cases, the original transcript must be sent to IKU.

Application Deadline:  June 15 for Fall Semester

                                 November 15 for Spring Semester

Once the applications are closed, application documents will be sent to the Erasmus Coordinators of the relevant departments. Admission Letters will be sent only after the approval of the coordinators.

Reviewing the syllabus page of a department will be very helpful in obtaining information about the program.

You will see certain abbreviations on top of the syllabus list:

The meaning of these:

Required Courses with a Z code will be opened as long as there is no extraordinary condition as they are compulsory.

Elective Core Courses with an SA code and Elective non-area courses with an SAD code may or may not be opened in different semesters. Therefore, you must definitely contact your Erasmus Department Coordinator before finalizing the courses you intend to take at IKU.

GRANT SUPPORT AND GRANT CALCULATIONS

Exchange students admitted as part of KA107 - International Credit Transfer will be supported with a grant to be calculated according to their mobility period. The aim of grants is to support participants who cannot fully cover all expenses during the mobility period.

Grants will be awarded according to the following table:

In addition, there is a separate travel support opportunity for students that enable working between the Program and Partner countries. Travel support will be calculated via the Distance Calculator based on the distance between host institutions.

Between 500 – 1999 km 275 €
Between 2000 – 2999 km 360 €
Between 3000 – 3999 km 530 €
Between 4000 – 7999 km  820 €
+8000 km ve üzeri 1500 €

Mobility Period and Grant Calculations

The grant to be awarded is calculated via the "Mobility Tool" system according to the estimated start and end dates of mobility and national priorities and criteria set by the National Agency.

Documents Required for the Grant Contract

  • Health insurance must be taken out and a copy must be submitted.
  • Fully signed learning contracts must be submitted.
